Sherry Handel's Biography

Sherry Handel brings 14 years experience in the printing and publishing industry. She is the author of Blue Jean: What Young Women are Thinking, Saying, and Doing (Blue Jean Press), published in the U.S., Croatia and Indonesia. Sherry is recognized as a trailblazing publishing entrepreneur and is the founder of several publishing ventures. Sherry founded - "the only web site written and produced by young women around the world", which attracted over 1,000,000 visitors from 100 countries worldwide. This popular web site was named as a "Top 500 Major Content Creation Site" by Content World. Blue Jean articles and reviews were distributed through a leading national newswire to millions of readers weekly from 2001-2003.

Sherry was the publisher and editor-in-chief of Blue Jean Magazine, a bimonthly title that she launched in March of 1996 to offer girls and young women an alternative to the glamour and beauty magazines. USA Today named Blue Jean "The Thinking Girl's Magazine". The magazine, and its companion web site were published from 1996-1998 reaching readers in 24 countries. Sherry and her Blue Jean ventures were featured on Nick News, and many television and radio shows. Reviews, feature stories and mentions appeared in USA Weekend, The Wall Street Journal, The Chicago Tribune, The Boston Globe, Pittsburgh Post Gazette, Atlanta Journal Constitution, Philadelphia Inquirer, St. Paul Pioneer Press, USA Today and many other publications.

Sherry graduated from Northeastern University with a B.S. in Business Administration, concentrating in Marketing, and earned a Certificate in Sustainable Business Practices from the Global Sustainability Institute at the University of Vermont in 2009.
